A new exhibition called “In the city” will open on Feb. 23, at 7p.m., at Master Klass, an arts and educational center in Kyiv.

The exhibition will be held by the association of artists called Blue October. The group consists of six Kyiv locals: Olena Pryduvalova, Akhra Ajinjal, Oleksii Apollonov, Matvei Vaisberg, Borys Firtsak and Oleksii Beliusenko. This is their third project together.

The artists want us to consider Kyiv as the starting point of creative exploration. They focus on the transformation of the city’s perception, the changes of the landscape, the breakdown of family dynamics, and personal stories.

“We are not indifferent to Kyiv. We live, work and present at exhibitions here. Every day, we roam the streets; breathe the exhaust gases of cars. We measure the depth of its puddles with our boots. We’re rejoiced by it and imbued by its sadness. We named our exhibition “In the city,” because we are all present in it: artists, spectators, paintings, and this exhibition hall. We are all Kyiv,” Blue October said.
