On February 26, the leaders of the 27 EU countries held a videoconference during which French President Emmanuel Macron shared details of his talks with US President Donald Trump. European leaders also discussed preparations for an emergency summit of the European Council scheduled for March 6.

EU leaders listened to Macron’s account of his meeting with Trump in Washington and outlined plans for an extraordinary summit on March 6.

“All 27 member states participated in the videoconference,” one EU official told to press.

President of the European Council Antonio Costa provided some details of the meeting on his Twitter page.

“Continuing to work on close European coordination, today President Emmanuel Macron briefed EU leaders on his meeting with Donald Trump earlier this week in Washington,” he wrote.

Costa also said that it was “very useful to prepare our special European Council on March 6, where we will decide on our support for Ukraine and strengthening European defense.”

“To achieve peace through strength, we must act together, I emphasized today at a meeting of EU leaders,” Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda also wrote on Twitter.
