According to a report by the European Commission, the European Union and Ukraine have experienced an increase in mutual trade of almost 30% from 2016-2017. UNN Informational Agency reports that Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Hugues Mingarelli said that there is reason to believe that this trend will continue.

Mingarelli is reported to have reaffirmed this belief during a Ukrainian-Italian business forum. The Deputy Head was quoted as saying, “This [trend] can be contributed to by working with the Free Trade Zone.”

According to Mingarelli, once the Ukrainian economy is completely integrated into that of the EU, it will be easier for Europeans to make investments and to cooperate with Ukrainian businesses.

Note: In 2018, Ukraine will become the leader in nominal salary growth in Europe, and third in real salary growth.
