The European Union must take decisive action to rearm, strengthen its defense readiness, and increase support to Ukraine.
EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas wrote this on X. according to Ukrinform.
“It’s time we rearm, reequip and stand ready for Europe’s defense. We will use every lever we have – from adapting fiscal rules for defense spending, to mobilizing our EU Budget, to new loans for joint procurement of equipment. We must also step up our support to Ukraine,” Kallas emphasized.
As reported earlier, on March 6 the European Council meeting helds in Brussels, where EU leaders will discuss ways to strengthen European defense and boost aid to Ukraine. This meeting follows recent statements and actions from the U.S. administration regarding a reduced U.S. role in European security and the suspension of military aid to Ukraine.
