On June 21, the Council of the European Union approved the negotiation framework for Ukraine and Moldova.

Belgian Presidency of the Council of the EU announced this on X.

“The EU Council adopted the general EU positions, including negotiating frameworks, for accession negotiations with Ukraine and Moldova. This opens the way for launching the negotiations on Tuesday 25 June in Luxembourg,” the announcement reads.

This decision means that an intergovernmental conference will be held on 25 June to then officially launch negotiations on both states’ accession to the EU.

The IGC with Ukraine will start at 15:30.

Initially, the permanent representatives of the EU member states approved the framework for accession negotiations with Ukraine and Moldova on 14 June.
