However, according to Mariana Besta, the spokeswoman of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, the Russian Federation never respected any of the signed clauses of the Minsk agreements—designed to appease the situation in the conflicted Donbas.

“On February 12, 2015, a set of measures for the implementation of the Minsk agreements (of 2014) were adopted. Russia did not respect any of the clauses. Russia needs a war-torn and destabilized Ukraine “, –  said Mariana Betsa.
