Donbas war: Two killed, twelve Ukrainian soldiers wounded over last 24 hours

On February 21, Russia-backed militants violated the ceasefire in Donbas 84 times. As a result of the attacks, two Ukrainian soldiers were killed, 12 were wounded. Ukraine’s Joint Forces Operation press service reported this.

It is specified that 64 attacks were performed from weapons, prohibited by the Minsk agreements.

In addition, a hostile drone, probably Orlan-10, flew over the line of contact.

February 21, over 45,800 people in the Shchastia district, a Kyiv-controlled part of the Luhansk region, are left without power after severe shelling of both civilian houses and infrastructural facilities. Luhansk Thermal Power Plant reported that as a result of the hostile shelling in the Luhansk region, Shchastia settlement was de-energized, Luhansk TPP, which is the main source of heat and electricity in the region, was disconnected from the grid.

February 17, the situation in the Donbas conflict area worsened after a relative lull. As reported earlier, Russia-backed militants shelled a number of civilian facilities, including a school and a kindergarten.

Since 2014 the armed conflict waged by Russia has claimed the lives of about 14,000 people, injured at least 30,000, including civilians, and forced more than 1.5 million people to flee their homes in Crimea and Donbas to escape occupation for the government-controlled territory of Ukraine.
