Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Unity Oleksii Chernyshov met with the IMF mission led by Gavin Gray to discuss support mechanisms for the integration and social adaptation of Ukrainians abroad.

Chernyshov shared this information on Facebook, as reported by Ukrinform.

“Today, I had a meeting with representatives of the IMF mission led by Gavin Gray. We discussed key areas of cooperation and possible support mechanisms from the IMF, particularly regarding the integration and social adaptation of Ukrainians abroad,” he wrote.

Chernyshov presented the work of Ukraine’s Ministry of National Unity, which is focused on developing programs to support Ukrainian citizens who were forced to leave the country due to the war.

“I also noted that the departure of millions of Ukrainians has become a serious challenge for the economy. To restore and grow the economy after the war, we will need millions of professionals, and we must start engaging them in projects in Ukraine now,” he emphasized.

The Deputy Prime Minister stressed that Ukraine must compete for its citizens by creating attractive conditions for their return — economic incentives and career opportunities. He added that this would only be possible through the implementation of reforms and economic growth.

“I am grateful to our partners for a constructive dialogue and consistent support for Ukraine. We will continue working together to ensure that every citizen, regardless of their location, feels the support of their homeland,” Chernyshov stated.

As previously reported by Ukrinform, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksii Chernyshov also discussed support for Ukrainian citizens abroad and economic cooperation with Polish ministers Krzysztof Paszyk and Tomasz Siemoniak.
