Defense Ministers of Canada and the United States discussed support of Ukraine

This was stated during a meeting between the Ministers of Defense of Canada and the United States Harjit Sajjan and James Mattis.

Minister Sajjan and Secretary Mattis confirmed the continuation of their support for the people of Ukraine, as well as the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine – said Barn Farlong, the spokesman for the head of the Defense Department of Canada.

According to him, the meeting also raised the question of peacekeeping in the world.

The two leaders exchanged views on the future of peacekeeping operations. At the same time, Minister Sajjan emphasized that Canada is committed to ensuring that UN peacekeeping remains an effective means of responding to the conflicts of the 21st century.

In addition, the ministers also touched upon the unpredictable behavior of North Korea.

“During the meeting, Minister Sajjan expressed the readiness of Canada to cooperate with allies and partners in the search for a diplomatic means for the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula, which will allow for security and prosperity”, said Farlong.
