Czech Republic and Slovakia to support Ukrainian environmental sector

The Czech Republic and Slovakia will provide support to the Ukrainian environmental sector. This was confirmed to Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine Oleksandr Krasnolutskyi by Acting Minister of Environment, Minister of Labour and Social Affairs of the Czech Republic Marian Jurečka and Minister of Environment of Slovakia Ján Budaj.

The meeting was held in Prague in the framework of the TAIEX-EIR Multicountry Workshop on Future challenges in European air protection.

During the meeting, Oleksandr Krasnolutskyi thanked Mr. Marian Jurečka and Mr. Ján Budaj for the unprecedented support of Ukraine and briefed the ministers on the environmental damage caused by the terrorist war waged by Russia.

Minister Marian Jurečka said that the Czech Republic is ready to support Ukraine in developing nature-protected areas and territories of the Emerald Network. It is planned that the Czech Republic will allocate part of the funds received from visitors of its national parks to support Ukraine.

Minister Ján Budaj said that Slovakia is ready to welcome Ukrainian experts next year to exchange experience in the environmental monitoring system and integrated environmental permitting.

Deputy Minister Oleksandr Krasnolutskyi also joined TAIEX-EIR Multicountry Workshop on Future challenges in air protection in Europe, discussing possible ways to improve air quality and identify obstacles that hinder this process.
