Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk has stated that all shadow schemes in the Ukrainian oil and petroleum product market will be eliminated and their participants will be brought to justice.

He wrote about this on his Facebook page following a regular meeting with oil traders, reports Ukrinform.

“There will be no shadow market of petroleum products in Ukraine. All the schemes will be exposed and terminated, while their participants will be held accountable,” said Honcharuk.

The prime minister said that President Volodymyr Zelensky had initiated a broad campaign to eliminate the shadow fuel trading schemes. In particular, a total of 2,200 inspections were carried out by the State Fiscal Service, the National Police and the Security Service of Ukraine.

Information regarding 1,399 illegal petrol stations was checked: 377 filling stations ceased operations; 559 were dismantled; 463 were issued a license.

Also, 4,000 tonnes of fuel and lubricants worth UAH 93.4 million, as well as equipment worth UAH 94.2 million have been removed. As a result of inspections, 292 administrative proceedings and 152 criminal proceedings were initiated.
