Human rights violations in Belarus, including repression of protesters and dissidents, may be equated with a crime against humanity. This was stated by the UN after studying the situation of human rights violations in the country after the 2020 protests. The Permanent Mission of Belarus to the UN in Geneva rejected the report as an instrument of lobbying the anti-Belarus agenda of Western countries at the UN and the Human Rights Council.
