Cold War: the former head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine assessed the likelihood of a new confrontation

There are no Cold War schemes or models, as the world is diverse and constantly changing. This opinion was expressed by the former head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine, General of the Army of Ukraine Mykola Malomuzh, on the air of the FREEDOM TV channel.

According to him, the existing confrontation between the US and China affects different areas: political, economic and even global interests. This confrontation can develop into a negotiation process, but not into a cold war, especially a nuclear one.

“But they don’t want to cross the red line. They simulated the situation of the consequences of a nuclear war. In fact, the consequences are the destruction of humanity. There will be no one: no China, no Americans, no Russians. Generally. It’s bare scorched earth. Therefore, this is a specific factor indicating that China, the United States, and even Russia and Putin will not go to a global nuclear confrontation. This will be a deterrent,” said Malomuzh.

The second point that the former head of the Foreign Intelligence Service dwelled on is competition in economic, political and military formats.

“China does not want to concede to the United States on many topics, but they are ready to cooperate economically, politically and diplomatically. Of course, China has always had some special grievances against its interests. And he, as often happens, used slightly forbidden tricks, for example, he changed one letter in the name of some well-known brand and launched his goods on the market. But this is, as it were, in the format of competition and is not a reason for global contradictions. This is a reason for confrontation in court decisions,” he explained.

Malomuzh drew attention to the fact that now not a unipolar world is being formed, but a multipolar one, centers of influence are being formed based on the model of cooperation, not confrontation.
