China is reportedly negotiating with Russia regarding the participation of its military in the war against Ukraine on Russia’s side, following North Korea’s example.
This was reported by the Center for National Resistance.
According to its data, China aims to gain combat experience in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. In this regard, they are looking at North Korea’s example.
The Center also adds that Chinese envoys have been repeatedly spotted in the occupied territories.
Moreover, a recent video circulating on social media allegedly shows Chinese mercenaries serving in the Russian army in the Pokrovsk direction in Donetsk region. In the footage, the Chinese soldiers can be seen drawing hieroglyphs on the walls inside a building.
It is worth noting that back in October 2024, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that he had received information about Russia preparing two units of North Korean soldiers, each consisting of 6,000 personnel. As of January, Zelenskyy reported that 4,000 North Korean military personnel had already been neutralized in Russia’s Kursk region.
Ukrainian soldiers say that North Korean troops refuse to surrender; instead, they either retrieve their fallen comrades or commit suicide to avoid capture. They also do not take Ukrainian soldiers as prisoners—those who attempted to surrender were executed.
Russia is trying to conceal North Korean involvement in the fighting. According to Ukrainian Special Operations Forces (SSO), official documents list them as Tuvans. Zelenskyy also mentioned cases where faces were burned beyond recognition to prevent identification of the bodies.
