Ukraine introduced a new interactive tool that helps filling out electronic declarations correctly.

This was stated by NGO Anticorruption Headquarters analyst Anton Marchuk, Ukrinform reports.

“Filling and submitting of an electronic declaration became a rather complicated problem for many civil servants and officials as they make a significant number of mistakes. In order to avoid further problems we created a chatbot Taras,” Marchuk said.

The chatbot Public servant Taras works by a certain legal algorithm in the form of prepared answers to the most common questions. However, in case of atypical issues developers advise call on the NAZK (National Agency on Corruption Protection) hotline.

Among the most common mistakes in the declarations were: lack of real estate, declaring assets below the established threshold, pointing out the self-income.

“Given the facts that almost million people have to submit declarations counseling on their filling is a very important issue, so our chatbot appeared. It is constantly updated and now contains the answers we consider to be most relevant. Chatbot will be changed and supplemented constantly according to the feedback of its users,” Opendatabot lawyer Mykyta Pidhainyi said.

Developers plan to meet with the representatives of different departments and provide full information about the new interactive tool.

The bot is advisory in nature and is based on the current legislative framework, namely the Law of Ukraine “On Prevention of Corruption” and the explanations of the NAZK regarding the declaring of information about certain property and active assets.

The chatbot provides step-by-step instructions for filling out the e-declaration as well as sending reminders about the deadlines for submitting declarations to all those who have previously contacted it.

The project was created with the support of the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative in Ukraine (EUACI).

Services of the chatbot Taras are available in Messenger and Telegram and will be available in Viber soon.
