“With more vaccinations and fewer infections in Canada, we can safely begin to open borders. A gradual approach to lifting restrictions will allow our health authorities to monitor the COVID-19 situation both domestically and internationally” – said Minister of Health of Canada Patty Hajdu.

The government clarified that fully vaccinated foreign tourists will be able to enter Canada starting September 7. Prerequisite: the relevant negative PCR test for COVID-19, done no earlier than 3 days before entering the country.

As for US citizens and permanent residents, travel restrictions to Canada will be lifted on August 9th.

It is worth noting that Canada considers to be fully vaccinated only those people who received two doses of Pfizer/BioNTech, AstraZeneca or Moderna vaccines, or one dose of Janssen vaccine.

Earlier, Austria and the Netherlands allowed Ukrainian tourists to enter, vaccinations against COVID-19 are needed.
