On July 14, the government supported the decision to establish monthly pension supplements for servicemen and employees of other law enforcement bodies. Almost 400,000 people will receive additional money.

This was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, the Government portal reports.

“By the initiative of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, a resolution was adopted, thanks to which hundreds of thousands of military and other law enforcement officials will receive additional pension payments. Due to imperfect legislation, since 2018, a large number of military pensioners have not received indexation, which has created an imbalance in terms of pensions, when some categories were under indexation and others – not. Today we have improved this situation” – Shmyhal said.

According to the head of government, the minimum pension payment will be set at $140. It also provides for an increase in payments for combatants who have lost their ability to work.

Shmyhal instructed to submit a resolution with all calculations for consideration by the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Budgetary Issues.

Previously, it was reported that pensioners of the Ministry of Internal Affairs stormed the Parliament building.
