American businessmen Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy will lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) in Donald Trump’s new administration.

Trump’s transition team announced the news on X (formerly Twitter).

“Together, these great Americans will pave the way for my administration to cut government bureaucracy, reduce excessive regulation, eliminate wasteful spending, and restructure federal agencies.” Trump stated.

According to Trump, a smaller government with greater efficiency and less bureaucracy is the “gift” the country will receive by July 4, 2026, in celebration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

On September 12, Trump also confirmed the appointment of Florida Congressman Mike Waltz as National Security Advisor in his upcoming administration. Additionally, Trump announced his intention to appoint former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe as CIA Director.

Trump further revealed his picks for other key positions: former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee as Ambassador to Israel, longtime friend Steven Witkoff as Special Representative for the Middle East, and Bill McGinley, former Cabinet Secretary in his first administration, as White House Advisor.

Earlier, U.S. President-elect Donald Trump has announced his intention to appoint former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe as Director of the Central Intelligence Agency.
