A bomb alert was signaled today, on March 18th, in Odesa. More precisely, the alert indicated that a bomb was located near the Russian consulate. The relevant authorities came on site and blocked all streets leading to it. Once able to work, the demining team inspected the perimeter and concluded that the alert was a fake one.

Bomb disposal experts and police dog handlers closed the street, where the institution is located, for several hours. The Consulate is guarded by police and the Ukrainian National Guard. Activists held a protest against the Russian presidential election in Crimea near the Consulate. They put sandbags and set up anti-tank obstacles surrounded with a barbed wire near the building, as a symbol of the Kremlin’s totalitarian regime.
