U.S. President Joe Biden will meet with U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer on September 13 to discuss allowing Ukraine’s defense forces to carry out strikes deep into Russian territory.
This was announced by U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken during a press conference with U.K. Foreign Secretary David Lammy, as reported by “European Pravda.”
“Biden will discuss granting Ukraine permission for long-range strikes on Russian territory with the British Prime Minister on Friday,” Blinken stated.
During the conference, Blinken confirmed that Iran had transferred ballistic missiles to Russia for use in Ukraine, making new sanctions against Tehran inevitable. He also mentioned that both he and Lammy will visit Kyiv together on Wednesday.
In recent weeks, Ukraine has been actively urging its allies to lift all restrictions on the use of long-range weapons against Russia, arguing that this would allow them to target aircraft responsible for launching cruise missiles and guided bombs.
In response, U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin stated that any means, including long-range missiles, are not decisive in the context of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
