Berlin to Assess Ukrainian Bill on Reintegration of Donbas

This was stated by German government spokesman Steffen Seibert, according to the German government’s Web site.

“The German government has not yet made a final assessment of the bill passed by the Ukrainian parliament. However, it is stressed that the context of the conflict in the Donbas is that Ukraine is a victim of aggression that is supported by Russia.”

According to Seibert, Ukraine has been in a state of military conflict for more than four years, in which Russia constantly provides military assistance to the separatists with weapons and materials.

“Undeniably, there are Russian military forces on the territory of Ukraine,” Seibert said.

On January 18,  on the second reading, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the bill on the reintegration of Donbas.

During the discussion, several times it was emphasized that this document recognizes Russia as an aggressor and an invader.

The EU considers the law on the reintegration of Donbas as an implement intended to resolve the internal civil and military order in Ukraine. The EU emphasizes its unchanging support of the Minsk and Norman processes.
