The PRC continues to publicly call the full-scale war that Russia unleashed against Ukraine a “crisis”. At the same time, Chinese institutions are studying this war in detail, taking out important information for themselves on the reorganization of their own army. Political scientist Igor Reiterovich spoke about this today, on April 6, on the air of the FREEDOM TV channel.
“China does not perceive Ukraine as a sovereign part of Russia, but the fact that China calls it not a war between Russia and Ukraine, but speaks of some kind of global confrontation associated with something completely different. China cannot officially recognize the fact of the war between Russia and Ukraine, because it is unprofitable for China,” he said.
Reiterovich drew attention to the fact that Ukraine, which is ten times smaller than Russia, is successfully driving the so-called “second” army of the world. Recall that the total number of losses of the Russian army since the beginning of the invasion is more than 176 thousand soldiers.
“You see, this is fundamentally unprofitable, because the parallels in China and the same Taiwan will not be in favor of China. I want to emphasize that although we do not like it, we must understand this position, they proceed from their own interests, and therefore they will continue to call the war with the annoying phrase “Ukrainian crisis”. The Chinese will talk minimally about the war itself, etc. Although, I am more than sure that entire institutions that work in China and deal with military and foreign policy issues are now studying this war in great detail, ”he said.
According to the political scientist, according to the results of such an analysis of the hostilities on the territory of Ukraine, the Chinese can make a lot of use for the reorganization of their own army.
“Let’s not forget that the entire Chinese army is armed mainly with weapons, like the Russian army, yes, somewhat modernized, modified, but nonetheless. She studied according to the same textbooks that the Russian Army used to study, and now they see that these textbooks can be thrown into the trash, and in the current war they are deciding completely different things. By the way, there were reports from their institutions that drew the first conclusions on the war, which China should use in its practice. It was about drones, and about the command system, and about decentralization, that commanders on the ground should have the right, as our commanders do, to make decisions, and not wait until some order comes to them from above. Therefore, in this regard, the Chinese clearly notice everything and draw far-reaching conclusions for themselves,” summed up Igor Reiterovich.
