Annual Report on the Implementation of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement released

Today, on March 24, the Annual Report on the Implementation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union for 2022 has been published.

As of today, Ukraine has already fulfilled 72% of all obligations under the Agreement, which is an important element of Ukraine’s integration into the EU’s internal market. Overall progress in implementing the Agreement in 2022 increased by 9%.

The greatest progress has been made in the following areas: intellectual property – 94%, public financial management – 90%, statistics and information exchange – 96%, justice, freedom, security, human rights – 91%, humanitarian policy – 91%.

“Despite the full-scale war, we have continued the active process of adapting Ukrainian legislation to EU law. This report is the result of a great teamwork of ministries, the Parliament and other authorities, and we plan to continue to maintain the high dynamics of European integration processes,” said Olha Stefanishyna, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine. “We are completing the implementation of the recommendations of the European Commission that we received with the candidacy, launched the self-screening procedure for compliance of Ukrainian legislation with EU law, and all these parallel processes are intended to speed up the next stage – negotiations on the EU membership”.

For 2014-2022, the main executors of the Agreement’s obligations demonstrate the following indicators: The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has fulfilled 70% of the measures and 1% is in the process of implementation, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has fulfilled 61% of the measures, and other government agencies have fulfilled 59% of the measures.
