American Landing Ship Enters the Black Sea

USS Oak Hill (LSD-51), a landing ship of the United States Navy, entered the Black Sea waters.

The statement by the press service of the U.S. sixth fleet says that the landing ship will take part in the military exercise, Spring Storm, from March 8 to 15 near ​​Constanta, Romania.

The aim of the exercise is to enhance the U.S.-Romania combat proficiency and strengthen the interoperability of the maritime forces.

Oak Hill is a part of the amphibious-ready U.S. navy ships in the Mediterranean Sea. It also includes the universal amphibious assault ship, USS Iwo Jima, and amphibious transport dock, USS New York.

Almost 2,500 U.S. marines are on board the ship.
