After Great Britain, it is now Australia and America’s turn to hold Russia responsible for the latest cyber-attack on Ukraine.

“In June of 2017, Russian defense officials launched the most devastating and expensive cyberattack in history. The attack sarcastically called NotPetya, has quickly spread around the world, yielding a loss of billions of dollars in Europe, Asia, and America,” said Sarah Sanders. The press secretary believes that “this was part of the Kremlin’s ongoing effort to destabilize Ukraine and demonstrates ever more clearly Russia’s involvement in the ongoing conflict.”

Washington officials called this event “a reckless and indiscriminate cyber-attack’, which would resonate on at the international level’.

Australian Law Enforcement and Cybersecurity Minister Angus Taylor said that after consulting various officials from the United Kingdom and the United States, the Australian government has determined that the Russian government is responsible.

Petya was a malware that attacked several computers across Ukraine’s most important companies and infrastructures, all in order to wreak havoc around the country and cripple its economy.
