In Prague, during the Ukraine-Czechia consultations, the states signed two agreements launching joint weapon production.

Ukrainian PM made an announcement during a joint press conference with Petr Fiala in Prague on July 16.

“Today we signed two important agreements, among other agreements in the defence industry. A new ammunition plant will be built in Ukraine. The agreement was signed by Sellier & Bellot [a Czech manufacturer] and Ukroboronservis [Ukrainian Defence Service],” Denys Shmyhal said.

The second agreement covers the production of Colt CZ Group assault rifles in Ukraine. Shmyhal informed the journalists that a Česká Zbrojovka firearms company will be involved in this project but refused to name the Ukrainian company due to security reasons.

The prime ministers also dedicated time to discussions about supply of new types of weapons to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and training and rehabilitation of soldiers.
