The meeting between US President Joe Biden and President Xi Jinping of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) is very important for Ukraine and world politics in general. Anti-crisis adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine (OPU) Mykhailo Podolyak told about this today, November 15, on the air of FREEDOM TV channel.
“The very fact of the meeting at the level of the presidents of the USA and the People’s Republic of China (PRC) shows that the world has really changed. Russia in this world, as it was before the full-scale invasion, no longer exists. This is very important for Ukraine. But this does not mean that the necessary decisions will be made tomorrow,” he said.
The anti-crisis adviser of the head of the OPU named four important components of the negotiations between Biden and Xi. The war in Ukraine will be discussed by the leaders of the USA and China.
“The first is a new configuration of global relations, where China will dominate, take on the role of a competitive opponent of the United States. They will determine the rules by which you and I must live. The second component — the Russian Federation is finally leaving the list of countries that have a direct influence on global political processes. Reputationally, everything related to Russia will only worsen. Russia will have less and less opportunity to sit at the global table and somehow influence decisions. This is very good. The third component — the war in Ukraine will be discussed from the point of view of how destructive it is. And fourthly, relations between the USA and China will be developed from the point of view of diplomacy, and the list of communication channels will be expanded. It seems to me that the expansion of communication channels, the expansion of diplomatic direct and indirect opportunities, will sharply reduce the escalating expectations that Russia has,” he explained.
