Western technology differs from Russian technology in that it is more maneuverable, and this is one of the main qualities in modern warfare. You can’t win with numbers now. This opinion was expressed by ex-USSR KGB foreign intelligence officer Оlexander Zelenko on the FREEDOM TV channel.
According to him, Western technology makes it possible for the crew to survive.
“It’s possible to lose equipment, but we cannot lose the crew. And most importantly, the lower and middle echelon of commanders can calculate where several tanks are now needed, where several infantry fighting vehicles are now needed, where to direct artillery fire even in economy mode. The Russians are hitting in squares, hitting methodically along the entire front line, in the same place. Then they move it further and further. During this time, ours have learned to maneuver and use the advantages of Western technology, to strike where they bring maximum effect,” Zelenko noted.
He believes that a successful war is a war of maneuver.
“You need to create an advantage in a very narrow area, get the task completed and move on, again looking for the enemy’s weak points. With such a war, the enemy practically does not have time to plug all the holes, and to place, say, one tank every two meters – the Russians do not have that many tanks, equipment, artillery and everything else,” the former intelligence officer expressed his vision of the operations.
As previously reported, more than 10 Abrams tanks will soon be delivered to Ukraine.
