Striking the territory of the Crimean peninsula and implementing special operations there, the Ukrainian military seeks to make it a kind of “logistics island” for Russian invaders. The founder of the charitable Foundation “Close the Sky of Ukraine”, retired lieutenant general Igor Romanenko, said this on the air of the FREEDOM TV channel, commenting on the special operation of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense with a landing on the territory of Crimea.
The military expert recalled that the fire impact on the military facilities of Crimea was carried out last year as well. And the Ukrainian military managed to especially intensify this kind of actions this year, because Ukraine’s ability to strike is increasing.
“I think that our Ukrainian unmanned vehicles, both ground-based and even underwater, will prove themselves in the near future. That is, it is still ahead. But even what is already being done is very important and necessary,” said the guest of the broadcast.
Ukraine will continue to influence the peninsula and facilities there, Romanenko is sure. And the enemy already understands that the reach of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is the entire Crimea.
“The enemy understands that such actions can actually be carried out on the territory of the entire peninsula. The strategy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the point of view of logistics is that this peninsula should be logistically made an island for the enemy. That is, we are influencing and will continue to influence the Kerch Bridge,” Romanenko said.
Regarding the situation in Crimea, he said that as long as Ukraine uses “tactics of small cuts”, this also applies to attacks on the rear of the enemy.
“So far, we see the active actions of the Ukrainian special forces, an initiative that is proactive, which is very important. That is, it does not allow the enemy, in general, to recover. This or the implementation of the strategy of small cuts. While this is not the landing of landing troops. But from different sides and with the use of different means, military facilities in the Crimea are being defeated, ”the expert noted.
He emphasized that such special operations, as on Tarkhankut, are very important, since they implement the principle of constant impact on the enemy.
“In order for us to continue to act effectively in the air, at sea and even under water, because more and more information that we have means and drones, and underwater, it is necessary to destroy and reduce the potential of the invaders, which was done very decisively, unexpectedly, as, in general, GUR always does. You look at the latest operations in other sectors of the front, where the actions of Ukrainian special forces, the Special Operations Forces, and units of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense suddenly appear. These are very important steps. They implement the principle of constant impact on the enemy,” Romanenko summed up.
Recall that the Ukrainian forces in Crimea eliminated the “visiting card” of Russian air defense systems – the S-400 missile system, and also landed on Thursday, August 24, on Cape Tarkhankut in the area of settlements of Olenivka and Mayak, damaging 4 high-speed Russian boats and destroying at least 30 occupiers.
