Ukrainian defenders have already passed the main minefields in the Zaporizhzhia region. This is 1,500 mines for each square kilometer. Ivan Stupak, a military analyst and employee of the Security Service of Ukraine (2004-2015), said this today, August 24, on the FREEDOM TV channel, commenting on the liberation of the village of Robotyne.
“We can carefully talk to you about the fact that the main minefields that were in front of our servicemen have already been passed. But once again, be very careful, because there has been no official confirmation of this yet. We understand that it is still possible to mine,” he said. The analyst reminded that minefields are not just some place where there are mines.
“There is such a figure – the “average temperature in the hospital”, this is the “average temperature” of the minefields in front of our military – 1,500 mines for every square kilometer. That is, these are anti-personnel mines, anti-tank mines, large, small, medium, wooden, plastic, which react to metal and explode, which bounce. That is, the most diverse. And literally recently, our military published a photo about the density of mining: 1 sq. m of our territory, on which there are 6 anti-personnel mines and 1 anti-tank mine. That is, it is simply a catastrophic level,” Stupak explained.
According to him, it can be said that the Ukrainian soldiers have passed these minefields, and it is safe to assume that the offensive will speed up by some order. “We are not saying that they will go forward on wheelbarrows, and literally in two days they will be near the Sea of Azov. But now our military will go directly to Russian positions, to Russian trenches, to Russian trenches. They will be smoked from there, most likely, they will move in the direction of Tokmak.
And the Russian military, who are on the left, right, their positions, will understand that the probability of encirclement, semi-encirclement is very high and they will probably have to choose – either stay in their positions and die, or make a “gesture of goodwill”, – summed up Ivan Stupak .
It should be noted that the day before, fighters of the 47th separate mechanized brigade put a Ukrainian flag on a building in Robotyne. The mass media say that the de-occupation of Robotyne opens quite wide opportunities for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
