At least 50% of the 30,000 paratroopers who were sent to Ukraine in 2022 were killed or wounded. This is stated in the intelligence review of the British Ministry of Defense, published the day before on Twitter, FREEDOM informs.

According to intelligence data, the annual celebration of Airborne Forces Day (ADF) of the Russian Federation on August 2, 2023 “was overshadowed by the unauthorized publication of the scale of losses suffered by elite troops in Ukraine.” This is an address on the occasion of the holiday of the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Airborne Forces, Colonel-General Mykhailo Teplinskyi. In it, the Russian general reported that 8,500 paratroopers were wounded and yet returned to the ranks or did not leave the front.

“The video was quickly removed from the official channels of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. He would not comment on how many service members were killed or injured too seriously to return to duty. However, the extrapolation of Teplinsky’s data confirms the estimate that at least 50% of the 30,000 paratroopers who were sent to Ukraine in 2022 were killed or wounded,” the intelligence report says.
