The head of the private military company (PMC) “Wagner” Yevgeny Prigozhin is engaged in PR professionally, which gives him the illusion of social support. In today’s conditions, he is fighting for his life, because the stage has begun – who will be responsible for everything that happens in Ukraine. This opinion was voiced by Russian political scientist Dmitry Oreshkin on the FREEDOM TV channel.
“I think that Prigozhin is fighting for his life because he promised Putin, as far as I understand, victory at Bakhmut. He doesn’t succeed. And now the question is who will be skinned. Prigogine, using a huge information machine that he himself created, is trying to protect himself. He created for himself the image of a true patriot, for whom at least 20-25% of the population will be ready to fit in, ”the political scientist noted.
Prigozhin lost his game, because he cannot capture the city of Bakhmut. Therefore, says Oreshkin, the only way to save him is to boldly and desperately shift the blame to the Russian Ministry of Defense.
“Of course, that’s how he stays afloat. If he remains silent, they will simply quietly tear off his head, because both Shoigu (head of the Russian Ministry of Defense, – ed.), And Gerasimov (commander of the United Group of Forces, – ed.) Have a hefty grudge against him for a long time, ”said the guest on the air.
He recalled that earlier Putin supported Prigozhin and allowed him a lot.
“His life hung on the fact that he was supported by Putin. He was allowed a lot. They were allowed to take over-planned shells, take “zeks” from the corresponding zones. They were allowed to kill them without trial, in general, spitting on all the laws in order to intimidate them and let them into battle. One thing was required of him – victory, ”Oreshkin said.
Now Prigozhin, the political scientist believes, is trying to create the appearance that he secured the victory. But the Ministry of Defense and, accordingly, the full-time troops “slammed” everything.
“It works for some part of the people. And this is the only thing that, it seems to me, Prigogine can count on now. Shoigu Putin cannot remove. No matter how badly he treats him. Because if he removes Shoigu, then it is clear that Putin himself believes that the campaign in Ukraine has failed. But Prigozhin can be removed, because Prigozhin, in general, is an upstart, a stranger in this system. If he removes it, then there will be no complications in the relations of the elites, ”Oreshkin noted.
Therefore, Prigozhin, realizing that everything is against him, allows himself what, in accordance with the instructions of Vladimir Putin, a cornered rat can afford, the political scientist says.
“He is now blaming everyone in a row, because he has built such an image for himself that, they say, he is a tough kid, an honest warrior, he doesn’t give a damn about anyone and he is offended by the state. Therefore, he pours mud not only on Shoigu and Gerasimov, but is already launching hints about the grandfather himself. It seems to me that this is not a performance, this is a drama, which, since it is performed by Prigozhin, of course, with elements of such a bloody farce in the arena. A very primitive drama. But the question, in fact, concerns a specific skin, a specific criminal named Prigozhin, ”summed up the guest on the air.
Recall that Prigozhin in his next appeal accused the Russian Defense Ministry of the disaster around Bakhmut. Thus, he is preparing the ground for bleaching his reputation in view of the impending military catastrophe, according to military observer Denis Popovich.
