On May 15-16, London will host the conference “Ukraine’s Recovery: Rebuilding with Research”, co-organized by the Presidential Foundation for Support of Education, Science and Sports

The Presidential Foundation for Support of Education, Science and Sports together with the Royal Society of London and the Universities Policy Engagement Network (UPEN) are organizing “Ukraine’s Recovery: Rebuilding with Research” conference.

The event will take place on May 15-16 in London. The conference is aimed at supporting Ukrainian scientists, strengthening and developing long-term cooperation between governmental and academic institutions of Ukraine and the UK.

The conference will be attended by a number of scientists from Ukrainian and British universities, relevant deputy ministers, who will present research priorities that will form the basis for developing solutions related to Ukraine’s economic challenges and needs during and after the war in the areas of public health and welfare, green recovery planning, and human development.

The conference will be attended by representatives of Odesa National Medical University, Bohomolets National Medical University, Ukrainian Catholic University, Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, and American University of Kyiv.

For the first time in the history of Ukraine’s independence, the Royal Society of London will support Ukrainian scientists in conducting research that will form the basis for policy development as part of our country’s recovery programs.

“As the level of complexity of the challenges and conditions in which Ukraine is currently developing exceeds all typical tasks, we really need the best minds and a culture of collaboration. In the future, the talent pool and the “economy of trust” will play a special role in Ukraine’s recovery. That is why the Ministry of Education and Science and the Ministry of Economy will lead the conference from our side,” said Olha Budnyk, Advisor – Presidential Commissioner for the Presidential Foundation for Support of Education, Science and Sports.

The first day of the conference will be held in the format of panel discussions and debates, and the second day will be organized in the format of roundtable discussions with experts who will formulate a further plan of joint actions.

The event is funded by Universities UK International, Research England, and the British Council with the support of the Academy of Medical Sciences, the British Academy, and the Royal Academy of Engineering.
