The visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to Poland is a political signal for Russia. This opinion was expressed on April 5 on the FREEDOM TV channel by Lukasz Adamski, doctor of history and political analyst, deputy director of the Juliusz Mieroszewski Center for Dialogue (Poland).
“The visit was grandiose in terms of political protocol… There was a special ceremony, there were negotiations between President Zelensky and President Duda, then there was a meeting with representatives of Polish business, negotiations with the Polish Prime Minister, and, finally, another big address, a speech by both presidents to the peoples of Poland and Ukraine… The visit was, of course, very significant,” he said.
Adamsky recalled that agreements were reached on military equipment, there were promises on diplomatic support, an agreement was also reached on the conditions for the participation of Polish companies in the process of restoring Ukraine, they also talked about new railway connections between Poland and Ukraine.
“That is, a lot of different topics were touched upon … The visit, in general, is one that is called historical,” the political analyst said.
He recalled that from the first days of the war, Poland has become an important logistics hub for Ukraine, and the Ukrainian leadership understands this. Thus, President Volodymyr Zelensky many times emphasized his gratitude to all Ukrainians for Poland’s help.
“This visit, one might say, is also such a political signal for the Poles, for the Ukrainians and for Russia that the ties between the two states are strengthening, after the war a new agreement will be signed that will determine the development of bilateral relations in the next 20-30 years, about that the border should be reduced to such a symbolic minimum, but in fact, the border, as an obstacle, an obstacle to the development of relations, to travel, should no longer exist,” said Adamsky.
