Head of Zelensky’s office Yermak discussed with representatives of partner countries acceleration of supply of equipment necessary for Ukraine to restore energy system

On the instructions of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, work with international partners continues to support the restoration of the country’s energy system after the missile attacks by Russia. On Monday, Head of the President’s Office Andriy Yermak held a regular meeting via video conference to discuss the supply of equipment needed to repair Ukraine’s power grid.

The meeting was attended by U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Resources Geoffrey Pyatt, representatives of the G7 countries, the European Union and its institutions, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the World Bank, the United Nations Development Program UNDP and USAID.

The Ukrainian side was represented by Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine – Minister for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov, Minister of Energy Herman Halushchenko, Chairman of the Board of the National Energy Company Ukrenergo Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United States Oksana Markarova, Advisor to the Minister of Energy Olena Zerkal and others.

The parties discussed the possibilities of accelerating the supply of equipment to Ukraine to restore the energy system and provide citizens with electricity.

“Speed is very important to us. This is the key point. Millions of Ukrainians have been suffering for several months now and do not have basic amenities,” said Andriy Yermak.

He thanked Geoffrey Pyatt for establishing coordination and ongoing dialogue between all Ukraine’s partners who are ready to provide or are already providing assistance to our country to restore energy infrastructure.

The participants of the meeting drew attention to the possibility of manufacturing some of the necessary power equipment in Ukraine.

Andriy Yermak expressed his gratitude to all partners who support Ukraine in this difficult time and provide assistance in rebuilding the power system.

“This is extremely important for us,” stated the Head of the Presidential Office.
