Kyrylo Budanov, the Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, has said that Ukraine would regain temporarily occupied Crimea in a combined way, both by force and diplomacy.
Budanov stated this in an interview with LIGA.net
“We will regain Crimea in a combined way, both by force and diplomacy. But nothing will happen without force. Our units will go there with weapons in their hands.”
Responding to the comment that Crimea is a “red line” for Western countries, the chief of intelligence said that he “is not interested in listening to the opinions of people who do not reflect the position of the Ukrainian people”.
Budanov stressed that Ukraine will reclaim all of its lost territories.
He recalled that Ukraine is a country recognised within the borders of 1991, and those who do not agree with this do not agree with the world order that has existed since the end of World War II or with the new foundations of the UN.
In September, Kyrylo Budanov, Chief of Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, claimed Ukraine was going to come back to occupied Crimea; it would happen militarily and soon enough. Budanov added that the liberation of Crimea would happen “not in the summer, but by the end of spring, perhaps even a little earlier” in 2023.
