Gov’t approves Agreement on cooperation in the field of youth policy between Ukraine and Turkey

Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved an Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Turkey on cooperation in the field of youth policy.

The relevant resolution, drafted at the initiative of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, was adopted during the Government meeting on July 12, 2022.

The said Agreement shall establish a legal framework for Ukrainian-Turkish cooperation in the field of youth policy between the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine and the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Turkey.

“This is an important document that will contribute to the further development of cooperation in the field of youth policy between the two countries and provide the necessary legal conditions for the ramp-up of bilateral Ukrainian-Turkish relations through the central bodies of the executive power and youth-oriented public organizations,” said the Minister of Youth and Sports Vadym Huttsait.

Cooperation is envisaged in the following areas:

• creation of conditions for intellectual self-improvement and development of youth;

• involvement of youth in volunteering;

• study and popularization of the historical past and cultural present of the Ukrainian, Turkish and Crimean Tatar peoples;

• development of youth centers and spaces infrastructure;

• popularization of a healthy lifestyle for young people;

• development of intercultural dialogue.

The adoption of the relevant resolution will allow Ukraine to complete domestic procedures for the entry into force of the Agreement.
