It has a machine gun. This autonomous unmanned vehicle is capable of carrying out a range of actions in combat missions, including evacuating the wounded and firing at targets. It also has great potential for a variety of peaceful applications.
The robot named Laska was designed to respond to voice commands. It supports gesture control via six built-in cameras. It recognizes commands carried out by a person wearing a high-visibility jacket.
Those in control of the robot have access to full diagnostics and can program routes and tasks to be performed autonomously.
“Our system allows to control it from anywhere in the world, as long as there’s internet connection, ” said Serhiy Ikol, the programming engineer. “We carried out our testing on a military training ground. The testing was to do with using it in electronic countermeasure mode. The military is very much interested in this technology. There is a lot of demand for systems that can return to the initial location on their own.”
Potentially, the robot can be of service to rescue workers and medics. In October, Laska will be presented at the military show in Kyiv.
