Command and staff training with the command of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine continues at five combined-arms training grounds of Ukraine. The most ambitious maneuvers took place at the training ground near Mykolaiv.
UA informs this with reference to the command of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Serhyi Nayev, control bodies from the National Guard, the Security Service, the National Police, the State Border Service, the State Emergency Service, and the State Special Transport Service are also involved in the training.
Practical actions are practiced under conditions of active use by the enemy of high-precision weapons and electronic warfare equipment.
“The training is aimed at increasing the operational capabilities of military command and control bodies in planning and controlling actions in various types of combat operations. These are defensive actions, the fight against airborne assault forces, sabotage and reconnaissance groups, conducting territorial defense, as well as support by aviation groups of land and sea groups” – said Nayev.
During the exercises, special attention is paid to repelling the air strikes of a simulated enemy. In particular, the landing of a conventional enemy assault on operational airfields, the fight against sabotage and reconnaissance groups, and so on.
“During the active phase, fighter, assault, bomber, transport and unmanned aircraft of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are involved in the maneuvers. Their task is to destroy enemy air attack weapons, strike at ground targets and provide air support for the actions of troops in the performance of missions. In addition, “Hurricane” and “Hail” multiple rocket launchers, as well as barrel artillery, were used to group the conventional enemy” – said Lieutenant General Serhiy Nayev
At the same time, the marines and special forces, with the support of aviation and surface forces, worked out the issues of strengthening the protection and defense of Zmiimyi Island. Anti-tank subunits conducted practical direct fire and missile systems at enemy armored targets.
The training will last until August 13.
