The US calls on Russia to consider ending hostilities and is waiting for Moscow’s response

This was stated by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in a comment to Fox News.

He added that negotiations are the only way to resolve the situation in Ukraine.

The US Secretary of State did not confirm a possible visit by Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff to Russia, but said that Washington would contact Moscow.

Rubio believes that the talks will address the issue of EU sanctions against Russia.

He also added that the US discussed territorial concessions with Ukraine.

The Secretary of State noted that the US will not consider the fossil fuel agreement as a security guarantee for Ukraine, and the country “needs sufficient means to deter future attacks,” which should also involve European partners.
