Officials from the Ukrainian and Polish governments have discussed joint production and maintenance of weapons and military equipment.

The talks took place during the conference “Polish-Ukrainian Military Cooperation: Traditions and Prospects,” Ukrinform reports, citing the Ukrainian Defense Ministry.

First Deputy Defense Minister, Lieutenant General Ivan Havryliuk, said that Poland remains a reliable partner in Ukraine’s fight against Russian aggression.

He noted that Poland has provided the largest support to Ukraine in proportion to its GDP — 4.91% — including military aid and assistance to Ukrainian refugees.

Havryliuk expressed deep gratitude to the Polish government and people for their steadfast support and comprehensive assistance.

“Poland was the first to supply Ukraine with heavy weaponry, initiated the tank coalition, and started delivering combat aircraft. Today, Poland participates in most of the ‘Capability Coalitions’ created to meet the specific needs of Ukraine’s Defense Forces,” Havryliuk said.

Amid continuous Russian threats, Poland and Ukraine are strengthening regional solidarity by exploring new opportunities for military cooperation to enhance their joint defense capabilities.

During the conference, Ukrainian and Polish government officials discussed key areas of future collaboration, including the joint production of weapons and military equipment, the maintenance and repair of Western-made military equipment, and cooperation in military procurement and logistics.
