Russian propaganda is once again spreading disinformation about alleged civilian killings in the village of Ruske Porichne in the Kursk region.

This was reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine via Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

“Russian propaganda is once again disseminating disinformation about alleged civilian killings in the village of Ruske Porichne in the Kursk region. As supposed evidence, Russian propaganda circulates a video showing several dead bodies. However, the video contains no real proof. It is impossible to determine the number of bodies, the location, the identities of the deceased, or the causes and circumstances of their deaths,” the CCD stated.

The center emphasized that such fabricated narratives are part of a large-scale and prolonged disinformation campaign about the so-called “atrocities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Kursk.” Russian propaganda aims to create an image of Ruske Porichne as a “Russian Bucha” and maintain a “high level of hatred” towards Ukrainians within Russian society.

Another goal of this campaign is to divert attention from the crimes committed by Russian forces against Ukrainian civilians. “Unlike the false claims spread by Russian propaganda, evidence of Russia’s war crimes has been documented by international organizations,” the CCD noted.

Previously, Russian propaganda has circulated fake videos, including one purportedly showing a soldier from Ukraine’s 114th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade calling on Ukrainian forces to “march on Kyiv.”
