Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal held a meeting to discuss mechanisms for confiscating frozen Russian assets.

According to Ukrinform, the head of government announced this in Telegram.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Olha Stefanishyna, Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko, National Bank Governor Andriy Pyshnyi, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Iryna Mudra, and diplomats.

Shmyhal reminded that foreign partners have already started transferring funds to Ukraine secured by the proceeds of frozen Russian assets. As part of the G7 initiative, our country will receive USD 50 billion. The first funds were transferred to the state budget in December.

“At the same time, we insist that all sovereign Russian assets frozen in the West should be confiscated and transferred to Ukraine,” the prime minister emphasized.

The Prime Minister heard the results of the work done. The participants of the meeting discussed the plan of cooperation with partners for the current year.

“I have set appropriate tasks for the ministries. Our goal is to force Russia to compensate for all the damage caused to Ukraine. We are consistently working in this direction,” Shmyhal summarized.
