he Ukrainian side is looking forward for the visit of U.S. President’s Special Representative for Ukraine and Russia Keith Kellogg as early as this February to comprehensively brief the official on the details of Russian aggression against Ukraine.
Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak said this in an interview with the Associated Press, Ukrinform reports with reference to his Telegram channel.
“Direct communication with the new U.S. administration is very important for developing a common position on achieving a just peace. The Ukrainian side is very much looking forward to the visit of U.S. President’s Special Representative for Ukraine and Russia Keith Kellogg in February to provide him with comprehensive information on Russian aggression against our country,” he wrote.
Yermak stressed that it is very important for President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his Office that the new U.S. administration receive as soon as possible complete and truthful information on battlefield developments, progress in mobilization, and the situation of the delivery of weapons and equipment.
According to the official, communication is important for developing a common position with partners, because it is impossible to form any plans for achieving peace without Ukraine at the table.
“I have already had a phone call with the National Security Advisor to the President of the United States of America, Michael Waltz. Contacts with other members of the Donald Trump administration are expected. I emphasized that Ukraine should approach negotiations on establishing a just and lasting peace from a strong position. Security guarantees are also needed, which is currently one of the topics of all conversations with partners,” he added.
The President’s Office chief underlined the need for Ukraine to receive strong guarantees that could prevent the recurrence of Russia’s aggression. He noted that Russia is not a country that respects international law and human rights, so no solutions will work if they are not backed and reaffirmed by reliable security guarantees.
“In addition, in the future, Ukraine seeks to be a strong partner in many areas, including economy. Our country seeks to attract investments from the United States and other countries. That is why President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s Victory Plan, in particular, includes a clause on investments in mineral extraction,” he noted.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak discussed upcoming meetings at the Munich Security Conference with the U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg.
