U.S. Special Envoy for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg, believes the chance of Ukraine regaining nuclear weapons is “between slim and none.”
Kellogg made this statement in an interview with Fox News, according to Ukrinform.
“The chance of them getting their nuclear weapons back is somewhere between slim and none,” Kellogg said, adding: “Let’s be honest about it […] that’s not going to happen.”
He noted that rearming Ukraine with nuclear weapons is a non-starter.
On Wednesday, Kellogg confirmed he would attend this year’s Munich Security Conference (MSC) to discuss Donald Trump’s plans for ending the Russia-Ukraine war.
In an interview with Newsmax, Kellogg stated that he would hold discussions with European leaders during his trip to Munich and report back to Trump. He emphasized that he would not be presenting the plan publicly, as that should be the responsibility of the U.S. president.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated in an interview with British journalist Piers Morgan that if Ukraine’s NATO membership process drags on for years or decades, partners should provide Ukraine with enough missiles and even “return nuclear weapons” to the country, as well as help finance a million-strong army to deter Russia, ensuring the people of Ukraine feel secure.
