President-elect Donald Trump reiterated his promise to end the war in Ukraine and prevent World War III on the eve of his inauguration.

Trump made the statement on January 19 during a pre-inauguration rally in Washington.

“I will end the war in Ukraine, stop the chaos in the Middle East, and prevent World War III – and you have no idea how close we are to it,” the Republican said.

During his speech, Trump addressed a range of issues, including the immigration crisis, new government policies, deportation, and more.

“We are going to make our country greater than ever before… We will take back our country tomorrow at noon,” Trump said, referring to his inauguration as the 47th president of the United States.

It is worth recalling that during his election campaign, Trump pledged to end the war in Ukraine before his inauguration. He also claimed he could end the war within 24 hours of taking office.

Recently, however, members of Trump’s team admitted that resolving the conflict is far more complex and may take months to achieve.

Trump also announced plans to sign a “record-breaking” number of executive orders once in office.

U.S. Senator Marco Rubio, whom Trump selected as his Secretary of State, stated that for the Russia-Ukraine war to end, both Ukraine and Russia would need to make concessions.
