Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Emmanuel Macron Discussed Strengthening Ukraine’s Positions on the Battlefield and in Diplomacy

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with President of France Emmanuel Macron in Brussels. It was their eighth meeting this year.

The Ukrainian leader expressed his condolences over the tragedy on the French island of Mayotte caused by cyclone Chido.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked Emmanuel Macron for his personal efforts to consolidate international support for Ukraine. Establishing a just peace for our state means ensuring security for all other European countries.

The main topics discussed during the meeting were military assistance and the needs of Ukrainian warriors. The President of Ukraine provided a list of what is needed by the defenders on the battlefield, as well as for enhancing air defense and long-range capabilities.

He thanked France for all the defense assistance it has provided, which amounts to more than EUR 5 billion, for its participation in most of the Ramstein coalitions, and for training the Anne of Kyiv Brigade. Ukraine expects the start of the training for the second strategic reserve brigade.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy also stressed that Ukraine values France’s support on its path to European integration.
