On the night of November 28, the Russian Federation once again carried out a massive combined missile and gun attack. The main target of the occupiers was the Ukrainian energy sector. Of the 188 enemy targets, the Air Defense Forces destroyed 76 cruise missiles, three guided air missiles and 35 UAVs. This was reported by FREEDOM with reference to data from the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

It is noted that from 19:30 on November 27, Russian troops struck Ukraine with various types of missiles and attack drones. A total of 188 air attack weapons were identified:

  • Three S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles launched from the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation at the Kharkov region;
  • 57 X-101 cruise missiles, launched from Tu-95MS strategic bombers, launch area – Volgograd region of the Russian Federation;
  • 28 Kalibr cruise missiles, launch area — Black Sea waters;
  • three Kh-59/69 guided air missiles, launch area — airspace over the Black Sea waters;
  • 97 Shahed-type attack UAVs and unidentified drones from the areas of Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Orel, Bryansk, Millerovo (Russia).

As of 10:30, the following have been confirmed shot down:

  • 76 Kh-101/Kalibr cruise missiles;
  • three Kh-59/69 guided air missiles;
  • 35 Shahed-type attack UAVs and unidentified drones.
  • The Air Force clarified that 62 enemy drones were lost locally.

The Russian air attack was repelled by anti-aircraft missile forces, aviation, electronic warfare units (EW), mobile fire groups of the Air Force and the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded to the massive Russian strike.

“The target is our energy sector. In total, about 100 attack drones, more than 90 missiles of various types. In several regions, strikes by Kalibr missiles with cluster munitions were recorded, and specifically on civilian infrastructure. These cluster units significantly complicate the elimination of the consequences of the strike for our rescuers and energy workers, and this is a very vile escalation of Russian terrorist tactics,” the head of state emphasized.

According to him, the necessary forces have been deployed in all areas where it is necessary. Energy workers and all services are working. “Points of invincibility” (“Punkti nezlamnosti”) have been deployed.

“Each such attack proves that air defense systems are needed now in Ukraine, where they save lives, and not at storage bases. This is especially important in the winter, when we must protect our infrastructure from targeted Russian strikes. We are constantly working with partners to have more power for defense, and timely deliveries now and full implementation of agreements, in particular on air defense, is what is most needed,” Zelenskyy emphasized.

As previously reported, the Russian army attacked Ukrainian territory with missiles and drones on the morning of November 28.

What was the situation in the regions:

  • Kyiv: Air defense was active. Debris fell on an enterprise in the Darnytsia district.
  • Lviv region: Enemy targeted energy infrastructure, similar to attacks in the Sumy region.
  • Rivne region: Over 280,000 households are without electricity. Water supply is disrupted, with similar issues reported across many regions.
