The UK government recently provided Ukraine with dozens of Storm Shadow cruise missiles without public announcement, according to Bloomberg, citing unnamed sources. These deliveries occurred weeks before the official approval for Ukraine to use Western missiles against targets in Russia.
This marked the first such supply under Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who pledged continued support for Ukraine in its defense against Russia. The shipments, carried out several weeks ago, were initiated after Ukraine exhausted its stock of long-range missiles.
The sources did not disclose the exact delivery date or quantity, citing operational security concerns.
Last week, Ukraine used Storm Shadow missiles to strike Russian territory for the first time, coinciding with ATACMS strikes.
On November 20, during the G20 summit in Brazil, Starmer confirmed the UK’s increased support for Ukraine but declined to provide specifics.
Reports suggest Storm Shadow missiles targeted a military site in the Kursk region, possibly the Baryatinsky estate in Maryino, believed to house a joint command center for Russian and North Korean forces operating in the area.
