Multiple election result models predict that Republican candidate Donald Trump will win the U.S. presidential election.
The Decision Desk HQ (DDHQ) forecast, as reported by The Hill, predicts that Trump will win Pennsylvania and Alaska, securing the minimum 270 electoral votes needed for victory. This comes despite several states still being uncounted, where the Republican candidate is guaranteed to gain electoral votes.
The New York Times considers Trump’s victory “highly likely,” with the possibility of him winning up to 306 electoral votes, surpassing the 270 needed. Kamala Harris would need to gain an advantage in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Michigan, but Trump is clearly leading in those states.
Fox News’ forecast also predicts a Trump victory, which will be confirmed after his win in Wisconsin.
Earlier, it was reported that Trump had secured victories in the swing states of North Carolina and Georgia, as well as Iowa, where some polls had suggested a potential upset.
Additionally, the Republican Party has regained control of the Senate, where it had been in the minority for the past four years, giving Trump a significant advantage should he return to the presidency.
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is expected to win Pennsylvania, which has the most electoral votes among all the swing states and was considered crucial for Kamala Harris’ chances of victory.
CNN reports that Trump’s victory in Pennsylvania will secure him 19 electoral votes. This state was considered one of the decisive ones for Harris’ chances.
Earlier results showed that Harris was close to losing Pennsylvania.
In the 2020 election, Democratic candidate Joe Biden won the state by just 80,000 votes.
Trump was the first Republican candidate to win Pennsylvania in 2016, after George Bush in 1988.
Multiple election models are now predicting Trump’s victory in the 2024 U.S. presidential race.
It is already known that Trump has won in the swing states of North Carolina, Georgia, and Iowa, where polling had suggested a potential upset.
